PAPER DUNE

Paper Dune is a mobile light-weight structure composed of approximately 4000 units of rolled paper modules.
The dynamic form flows through the space forming a lounge within the center.
The overall geometry reacts to the density of visitor’s circulation and mimics how dunes are naturally formed.
It becomes taller in a heavier traffic area as if the dune grows taller with stronger wind.
This ultra-thin paper structure showcases the strength of the material whilst expressing the ephemerality with lightness and softness.
The soft and light masonry structure is composed of paper rolled into multiple cylinder modules.
While keeping the soft texture and lightweight features, the shape of the cylinder provides strong vertical resistances.
The simple construction method allows paper units to be movable structure.
It can be transported flat with fewer space concerns and can construct onsite.
Each unit has 4 slits on both the top and the bottom.
A bubble-like structure is built by inserting each joint into another joint.
