目黒区の住宅地の一角にあるRC造２階建ての住宅の改修計画を行った。
既存の建物は、東西に長い敷地の形状に対して、それぞれの方角に向けて２つの大きなテラスを持っていた。
そこで居住スペースは大きなワンルームとしながらも、午前中光があふれるエリアにリビング・ダイニングスペースを配置し、夕方の黄昏空を望めるエリアをベッドスペースとし、一日の光の変化を感じることができる空間とした。
またリビングとベッドスペースはスチール製の大きな三枚引き戸で分節できるようにしているが、日常では建具をあけ放った状態で生活できるようにした。
空間中央に設けたキッチンスペースは、住設機器などが納まった箱状のキャビネットの扉を開閉することで、調理スペースが空間の中に立ち現れるようにし、使用していない時は箱型の家具として既存のRC打ち放し空間に馴染むよう配慮した。
ここでは家具や建具の扉を開け閉めすることで、住む人の活動のリズムに合わせて生活の領域が自由に可変できるような住宅とした。
A renovation project of a two-story reinforced concrete house located in a residential area in Meguro Ward.
The existing building had two large terraces facing in opposite directions relative to the elongated shape of the plot, one towards the east and the other towards the west.
For the living space, we arranged a large open-plan area, with the living and dining spaces flooded with morning sunlight and the sleeping area designed to observe the twilight sky in the evening, creating a space where one can feel the changing light throughout the day.
The living and sleeping areas are separated by large steel sliding doors providing privacy and designed so that they can be left open during the day.
The kitchen space, located in the center of the area, features cabinets where kitchen appliances are stored.
By opening and closing the doors of these cabinets, the cooking space emerges within the room, and when not in use, it blends in with the existing RC exposed concrete space as box-shaped furniture.
By allowing the furniture and doors to be opened and closed, we aimed to create a home where the living areas can be freely adjusted according to the rhythm of the inhabitants’ activities.
